Interesting morning I received this from a reader and un edited I approved the comment :

Why the hell should I have to pay for your Daughter’s tax break? Why should everyone in Amherst have to pay for a tax break (designed to help blighted areas) for Lorain’s wealthyest residents? I thought this blog was for taxpayer accountability???Talk about taxation without representation!

You also rail against hypocricy, but you are the biggest cheerleader for this bogus program that was set up to benifit Oester homes and Community Developement. You also bash councilman Snodgrass and Auditor Stewart, when they are one of the few that had the stones to try to stop this BS. And what possibly would they have to gain by it? Nothing but your abuse aparently. Now who’s the hypocrit?

You can’t claim to be a champion of government accountability and also be a supporter of this program. Your blogging is nothing more than slander-fest trying to trump up support for your daughter’s deal with the devil. If she couldn’t affort to pay the taxes, she shouldn’t of bought the house. And if Lorain can’t get people to by their houses, they shouldn’t expect Amherst to pay for BS enticements.

and I was going to go into a lot of detail and explain my stance to this obviously very upset individual

there it is again

that BUT -the IP address is from LORAIN COUNTY GOVERNMENT -the same group that are having lunches and sending out letters -casting unpleasant aspertions on the City of Lorain officials soooooooooooooo I will consider the source
tc tch tch seems someone has their knickers in a knot!!!!

For one, how is Amherst paying for my taxes?
and the rest of Lorain County are paying Stewart’s
    legal fees including myself.

Not only do I pay forhis legal fees but I have to pay for my own to fightfor something I am legally entitled to.

    Second, it is
none of anybody’s business what I can afford
    but if
you want to know I was signing on the dotted line of a
half million dollar home in Avon, when this house was
presented to me, so yeah I can afford a house in
Lorain. Who wouldn’t pass up a tax break...
Snodgrass who works for the other devil and sits on city
council has a conflict of interest. He can’t even
talk to his people in his ward about this because of
    his conflicting jobs-

so who is it you are really
working for, the taxpayers you are so devoted to or
the enemy of the people in your ward? Seems to me
something should be done about this. And since I am
ticked off now maybe, like my mother, I will do
    something about it!!!

You know property tax was why we bought here in Lorain County. Wish we knew then what we do now. In 4 yrs our property tax has almost tripled.

and in Lorain what do we get in return for all those high taxes?

I think every home and property owner in a county should pay their property taxes. But with us it seems everytime the County Budget goes up so does our property tax.

Cissy they still pay “taxes on property ” infact Nikki pays more on her property (land) 70,000 dollars than I do on my house and
land 69,000 the house is abated ( well not now ) for 15 years but they are still paying property taxes Loraine

Of course the other little point is that this email sent from a government computer on government time by obviously a Lorain County government employee ( remember this is GMT on this site ) so the time was this MORNING geeeeee when all little auditors and government workers should be busy at their taxpayer paid positions..tch tch tch..pop goes the weasel!!!!

    Thanks for the smile, Loraine!

    I’m glad you shared that!

  • 6. CissyMathis  |  March 10, 2008 at 7:03 pm

Im glad u shared too. I didnt realize what the abated issue was.

And yes. Govt, County, and city employees do waste our tax dollars. I don’t have proof as I didnt have a camera with me at the time, but I visited a city office a yr ago and one city employee was supposely at work, but was playing a video game. You know one of those that comes with windows. I kept wishing I had her job. There is a county employee that plays an online game that Henery and I both play on.

Either they are playing while at work or they have lots of daytime hours off. So which is more important sending an email on company time or playing a game? It’s common practice.

About a thousands different responses are circling in my head after reading that email. I don’t even know where to start, so I probably will not even get into any of them.

I find it full of “Iron-E” (<– just joking there) that they are aware that you are against wasting tax payer’s money, yet they are wasting our taxes getting paid to send you an email from a government computer bought with our taxes.

Yeah interesting that eh? and actually it is the WoM blog that is the blog about ” taxpayers

“that woman blog” is just about whatever comes through the computer screen or into my life on any given day ..
As to a well thought out logical response , they don’t deserve one as it is typical game playing and muddying the waters, I have no respect for their point of view considering “the source” 🙂
