TALKING AT LAST-

August 19, 2008 at 10:09 am 6 comments

According to this report- Morning Journal by Alan Ingram

Assistant Lorain County Prosecutor Jerry Innes declined to talk about the settlement but said, ”We’ve been talking for about three weeks here to try to come up with a resolution, and the city’s come up with a proposal that we’ll present to the commissioners to take a look at.”

Of course my chum Chandra isn’t very happy

Stewart’s attorney Subodh Chandra said Stewart has requested the commissioners and their legal counsel meet with him to discuss the possibility of a settlement. They have not yet received a reply, Chandra said.

”It looks like they may be going off on a frolic all by themselves,” Chandra said

FROLIC???? since when did professionals and elected officials to whom we pay salaries for their expertise sitting down and discussing situations that are in THEIR JOB DESCRIPTIONS BECOME FROLICKERS?

Sorry Mr. Chandra that is exactly what should have been done in the first place…. but I can see your anxiety in all of this and at least 200,000 reasons why you would want to negate any settlement talk! WATCH THIS SPACE

I am confused about what the settlement offer is. The MJ says it is a reduction of the 100% to 75% for the “retroactive” abatements. Meanwhile the CT says it a 25% fee would be applied to “retroactive” abatements. Which is correct? Is the 25% fee the CT mentioned applied on top of the $3.75/ft² being paid or does it come from it?

    Loraine,
I thank you for all the continued info on the CRA. You have done such a terrific job getting the information out and keeping us up to date . Hope this is finally resolved and you can take a rest and enjoy the family and reporting what really tickles you.

You are more than welcome Becky – I said I would hold the media manipulation down as best I could and make sure the facts were available rather than the spin….. even if I had to fight fire with fire on “marketing” 🙂
I am sure it has a long way to go still but at least it isn’t going cost a million or so for the attorneys …. Loraine
