The site is coming along nicely.

This was one of the first pics that popped up on my laptop when I was showing Bud (Emerson) the progressing development of the Carvings Corner. He “loved” the tall grasses on either side of the Captain.

ooooooooooh I like the name Carving’s Corner will have to suggest that πŸ™‚ I am so pleased that Bud liked what we have done to show case his work – it is getting a lot of traffic. …we have had people in the last few days from Florida and southern Ohio stopping by —– I hope that 90 percent of the site will be finished by August 1st…….. thanks again Henery ( Mark) and Paula for all the photos and documenting the project and mostly for being there πŸ™‚

    I like Carving’s Corner, too!

Of course, now I’ll fuss about the apostrophe. Do we mean:

Carving’s Corner (the corner belonging to one of the carvings)
Carvings’ Corner (the corner belonging to some or all of the carvings)
Carvings Corner (a corner with multiple carvings, with no sense of possessiveness by any of the carvings implied)

And, yes. This is something that I will keep thinking about! Ack.

errrrggggg Kelly my hmmmmmmmmmmmmm now I have to think maybe it should be Carver’s Corner πŸ™‚ but then would Mr. Carver of Canton get the credit πŸ™‚ – is it any wonder I told the Mayor and administration it was up to them to name the site Hah Ah a method in my madness….

  • 7. Kelly Boyer Sagert  |  June 30, 2009 at 5:41 pm

What if they want to put an apostrophe in the wrong place?????

  • 8. Loraine Ritchey  |  June 30, 2009 at 6:00 pm

Oh dear an apostophe catastrophe …… maybe we had better use the signage in Manadrin since “english” is out of the picture it seems ……. πŸ˜‰

  • 9. Kelly Boyer Sagert  |  June 30, 2009 at 7:23 pm

Good plan! All we need to do is to learn Mandarin before the end of July and we’re all set!

Wow! What the heck did I start?! Carving’s Corner just happened as I was typing that comment and I get everyone all in a ruckus.

Sorry ’bout that! You could even name it Emerson’s End, since that’s where 2nd St starts…..

    I’ll stop now.

Mark there was this line in a play I was in ” Educating Rita” and Howard’s End ( and nope I am not even going to go there Big πŸ™‚

  • 12. Loraine Richey  |  July 1, 2009 at 10:51 am

OUCH it was without the dreaded apostrophe- Howards End Kelly I think you should write a piece on the correct use of an apostrophe as a punishment πŸ™‚

  • 13. Kelly Boyer Sagert  |  July 2, 2009 at 5:27 pm

I will not talk about the correct use of apostrophes ever again.

I will not talk about the correct use of apostrophes ever again.

I will not talk about the correct use of apostrophes ever again.

hmmmmmm not sure I will let you off the hook that easily

Henery , Paula do you think we should give her the assignment of “searching for shorty” πŸ˜‰

  • 15. Kelly Boyer Sagert  |  July 2, 2009 at 6:17 pm

    What does that mean??????

  • 16. Loraine Ritchey  |  July 2, 2009 at 6:20 pm

Oh be afraid be very afraid – the tracking down of an urban legend takes a very special investigator one who knows where the apostrophe goes….

  • 17. Kelly Boyer Sagert  |  July 3, 2009 at 12:06 am

Somehow, this sounds like a place that angels fear to tread . . .

  • 18. Mark  |  July 3, 2009 at 1:41 am

I’m glad it’s not me that has to hunt that one down.

Sounds like something that would scare grown men.

I’ll be hiding behind the couch.

I present to you the credentials of a great detective and the fact grammar matters therefore Kelly is certainly the one for the job to track down the truth …. no matter how small it may be…

( btw) a “full stop” for the Americans among us is a “period”
