AFTER 178 YEARS! – Ya think they would have found a cure! Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

The Faces of Cancer:

I am so angry , in fact the word anger doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel -absolute rage might be closer!

I lost my wonderful son to the “curable cancer”. Just google Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and you will get for the most part the following :’s_lymphoma

It was named after Thomas Hodgkin, who first described abnormalities in the lymph system in 1832

The disease occurrence shows two peaks: the first in young adulthood (age 15–35) and the second in those over 55 years old.[3]

The survival rate is generally 90% or higher when the disease is detected during early stages, making it one of the more curable forms of cancer.[4] Hodgkin’s lymphoma is one of the handful of cancers that, even in its later stages, has a very high cure rate, in the 90s.[5] Most patients who are able to be successfully treated and thus enter remission generally go on to live long lives…..

Hodgkin’s lymphoma is one of two common types of cancers of the lymphatic system. The other type, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, is far more common.

Advances in diagnosis and treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma have helped to make this once uniformly fatal disease highly treatable, with the potential for full recovery. The prognosis continues to improve for people with Hodgkin’s lymphoma

No ! that isn’t accurate this damned disease affects the young and young adult…in the prime of their life.

My son is not down as one of the statistics of dying from Hodgkin’s – he is probably seen as a success stat for SGN 35. He is listed as dying from H1N1 not Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Chris had the best doctors , the most advanced treatment, the best hospitals in the country ( in fact two of the top hospitals in the WORLD!!!)and still 18 months after being diagnosed with Stage 2 and being found Cancer Free- three times- DIED within 18 months of diagnosis.

He died because of this obscenity and others are dead and dying from it as well.
In 2009 the National Cancer Institute
gave out the stats as follows

Estimated new cases and deaths from Hodgkin lymphoma in the United States in 2009:

New cases: 8,510

Deaths: 1,290

MAKE THAT 1,291 and how many other “lost statistics” down as pneumonia, blood clots, etc etc when the cause is the obscenity Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This obviously is a world- wide problem

My math is not that good but it looks like 1 in 8 die that is not 95% or 90 percent cure rate. I think these stats are wrong. I think there are many more mothers who weep and have wept for 178 years.

Check out some of the ones who fought and then tell me this is the curable cancer 95% of the time

Medical Science has had 178 years (nearly two centuries) to take this disease seriously – Time to make some of this promised progress –

Read Alese Coco’s struggle and get involved so other mothers don’t have to watch their child die by inches…….

We need to draw attention to this “curable cancer” and the myths that surround it and after nearly 200 years finally eradicate it !
