UPDATE!!!! What do you want to bet the City of Lorain’s insurance will say “ ACT OF GOD!”

Funny that “HE” mustn’t have been in this neighborhood until after CT Consultants and the sewer project- and if the EPA told the city no more taking the water straight back into the Lake Erie shouldn’t there have been a remedy put in place to stop this happening? Or is God the scapegoat?

CAN YOU SEE ME NOW??????
We are up to our necks in water and the following gives a new meaning to living on the water !

Charleston Village – the neighborhood- 1st Street-
It just bubbles up the man hole covers no match for our turbid torrents!

If the residents can’t go the lake the lake will come to them ( at least everytime there is a major storm in “recent” years….. hmmmmmmmmmm???? )-

    Loraine,
I got home from council last night, and found for the ninth time three inches of water in my basement . Last month was six inches and the worse was 24 inches. Received many phone calls last night.
On Monday at the regular council meeting,, council and Administration must come up with some type of solution.to resolve all these floodings in the homes. They have become holding tanks for excess water. Something is not right.. Hope your basement w3as dry.

No matter what you call it, Global Whatever, we are seeing quite a climate change with massive high energy storms that our drainage systems were not designed to handle. Paving, building and agricultural drainage practices decrease soil holding patterns and increase runoff volumes with decreased times. If this is what happens with an inch and a half of rain imagine what a real gully washer will do. We all can remember a nice quiet overnight soaker to turn the lawns green ….we haven’t one of those for awhile.

There is more to this than meets the EPA 😉 for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.l We pay millions to engineering companies and the CT Consultants.something needs to be looked at in my humble opinion. People shouldn’t have to live like this especially when they were fine for decades??? What changed??????

Anne, I was fine I am on a rise the water runs along the “covered over creek bed and underground stream ( even though CT Consultants said there was no such animal when the “project dry basement was in the news) and guess where all that water flows …..

I wrote a series about Lorain back then with maps I might reprise it

In 1926 when this old Tudor was built there wasn’t a river coming out of the ground. We were told, when we purchased the home, it was now on a “land fill” and they (whomever “they” were) filled in the rivulet/ stream/ creek. Mr. Ct Consultants chap stated recently
“ I know every water source and river and they were ALL filled in – wouldn’t make any difference and I am sick of people saying they could afford the fix. etc etc etc ……….””

It seems that just as I get one answer and a “AH HA!” I get another question to add to my list of Project Dry Basement questions. ( you can access the list of 10 questions sent by clicking on the link and scrolling down the CVSI update article)

I have emailed the City of Lorain to supply me with the data
After the Project Dry Basement public meeting Mr. Ct Consultant( Mr. Greytec??sp) made a statement to me that the he knew all the rivers and their sources and they had all been filled in . Could you please get me the information records etc upon which he based that statement. Thank you Loraine

    to be continued 🙂

    Good Point about our “consultants”.

Which one involved in the collapse on Oak Point?

  • 6. Major Pain  |  April 26, 2011 at 8:23 pm

    Question :

What’s the difference between the water in your basement and the water coming out of your tap?

    ………ready

    – Here’s the answer ………………NOTHING!!!!!! 🙂

We spent tons of money reinforcing our basement when we moved here in 1990. Also, take a look at a lot of the basements. In the new developments, the floors and walls are poured and not cement block like ours is and they are very thin. After a little bit of pressure from water in the ground (and this is clay soil so it holds water) it will produce cracks that allow water to get into the basement. Our neighbor has a situation where the city replaced a fire hydrant and broke his sump pump line. Now he has water actually shooting back into his basement from a crack in the wall the appeared over the winter. The city was over there today and the city worker actually started screaming at the neighbor! I believe that it’s a compilation of a couple of things that is causing this and everyone is so worried about accepting blame that they’re claiming plausible deniability and pointing the finger elsewhere in order to obfuscate the question. But what do I know? lol

I realize that my house is just one in many in this city. I can sympathize with the frustration. I think one of the things about Lorain that I don’t like is that we accept things and do nothing about it.
I’m wondering now if the EPA is there to protect everyone, will they be there to protect me. If and when it rains the next time, and I do fear the rain. What would happen if I call them when the water comes into my house and say I think I have a “Imminent Health hazard in my basement” will they respond. Am i not the one they are here to protect. Can the EPA say ok you can’t dump it in the river but its ok to Dump in in Bill’s house who is the nearest to the river. I think what is going to happen is I’m going to keep talking till someone listens. I don’t think I would feel so bad if this was a natural disaster and not a man made disaster…..There are a lot of people in this city who except non performance as a way of life, I’m going to try and not be one them. I think it is reasonable not to have water and sewage in your house. My house is on the May 2nd agenda, lets see how the city leaders handle this. This is election time and for me I’m going to see who steps up to the plate. Its really sad in Lorain when you think the only way out is to hire an attorney to get people to do the right thing.

That is what makes people “normal”, Bill…

On the History Channel Video which compared/contrasted the Stanford Prison Experiment of 1971 with the prisoner abuses at the Iraqi Abu Ghraib prison, Philip Zimbardo stated that we call people HEROS who BREAK OUT of that “stand around and hope somebody else does something”

It’s easy to “pile on” and jump in and join with the mob that was already pummeling the “disgraceful thinking across the pond” chap in Loraine’s blog.

Somewhat comically, Grammy openly exhorted us to action,
“what kind of people would we be if we just stood by” and did not join in with the mob beating the stuffings out of this singular individual?

    Kind of sick, isn’t it?

British author, Doris Lessing is considered by some to be the finest female novelist of the last half of the e twentieth century… commenting on Yale Psychologist, Stanley Milgram’s “experiments on obedience” she offered that it was quite a dirty lesson that the human race learned about itself.

Hey, Bill… you want to fund the school system, in toto, without a levy that will never pass anyway???

Name the High School “USS Liberty High School” and the sports teams can call themselves the “murder victims”.

At football and basket ball games, the announcer can state to welcome the Vermillion Sailors vs the USS Liberty Murder Victims.

The money will come pouring in to get you to change the name if the school board sticks to its guns and refuses to budge…. No levy needed… a levy that doesn’t stand a snowball’s chance of passing anyway

What I propose is SQUARELY WITHIN the arena of “public policy formation”, Bill Sturgill.

Eisenhower’s “cross of iron” speech DIRECTLY REFERENCES spending on schools, hospitals, water treatment facilities AS OPPOSED to military spending.

He warned us 3 TIMES about the dangers of the military-industrial complex taking control of the “councils of government”… go to youtube and watch his speech on the military industrial complex.

How many times did Eisenhower need to warn us before we as a people DEMANDED that the dangers of the military be configured in the MEDIA DISCUSSION when contemplating the decision to have the Medders and the Barnes to send their sons off to die in a phony war on terror.

Eisenhower’s 3 warnings were not enough for me to get off my duff and do something, Bill… I would have need 11 Eisenhower warnings myself… For Loraine, the first warning might have been enough… for you personally, the number of warnings might have been 3… for Anne Molnar???… well Anne has apparently gone into hiding with Thomas Skoch, Julie Wallace & Andy Young…

…or in the alternative, she may be waiting for Ike’s resurrection from the dead and a fourth warning from him about the military controlling our government…. then she’ll start speaking up in City Council about the need to confront the two political parties, all branches of the media(conservative, liberal, radio, print, TV).

CIA Director, Richard Helms on the USS Liberty attack (page 300/301 of his biography):

This is a “partial whitewash”… the USS Liberty was only supposed to be strafed with only a few US Sailors murdered (Seaman Barnes and Ensign Medders)… Johnson & McNamara approved a rogue CIA Operation proposed by James Angleton of “complete murder of all 250 + US Sailors and their 250 US Families who would be screaming for Egyptian blood in revenge…

…Helms was unaware of what was really being planned…. The “accidental attack” thoerists lie about 10 official investigations, but I have fun with them and ask at which one of these 10 investigations did Helms testify?

They flee faster than Thomas Skoch or Julie Wallace when you talk to them about their uninsured delivery drivers

“One of the most disturbing incidents in the six days [war between Israel and the surrounding Arab states] came on the morning of June 8[, 1967] when the Pentagon flashed(urgent top-priority precedence) a message that the U.S.S. Liberty, an unarmed U.S. Navy communications(spy) ship, was under attack in the Mediterranean, and that American fighters had been scrambled to defend the ship….

…. The following urgent reports showed that Israeli jet fighters and torpedo boats had launched the attack. The seriously damaged Liberty remained afloat, with thirty-four dead and more than a hundred wounded members of the crew.

Israeli authorities subsequently apologized for the accident, but few in Washington could believe that the ship had not been identified as an American naval vessel. Later, an interim intelligence memorandum concluded that the attack was a mistake and “not made in malice against the U.S.” When additional evidence was available, more doubt was raised….

… This prompted my Deputy, Admiral Rufus Taylor, to write me his view of the incident. “To me, the picture thus far presents the distinct possibility that the Israelis knew that the Liberty might be their target and attacked anyway, either through confusion in Command and Control or through deliberate disregard of instructions on the part of subordinates.”

The day after the attack, President Johnson, bristling with irritation, said to me, “The New York Times put that attack on the Liberty on an inside page. It should have been on the front page!”

I had no role in the [CIA [B]oard of [I]nquiry that followed, or the board’s finding that there could be no doubt that the Israeli’s knew exactly what they were doing in attacking the Liberty. I have yet to understand why it was felt necessary to attack this ship or who ordered the attack.”

Bill… the USS Liberty attack would have been the subject of an “analysis” or a “paper”… A “CIA Board of Inquiry” meant something “internal” had gone wrong within the CIA… just ONE of the FINDINGS was that Israel knew they were murdering US Sailors… it is the OTHER FINDINGS that would be of even greater interest.

The USS Liberty crew was the most numerously decorated US Vessel in the post WWII era, Bill….

Name a “water treatment facilty” and a “high school” in honor of those numerous decorations and watch the money pour in once the bad guys realize you can’t be intimidated like Skoch, Wallace, Young, Grammy & Molnar…..

..it may have been YOU that Zimbardo was referring to as the “hero” and the rest of the above-mentioned who are just what Zimbardo called “normal” waiting only for Grammy to give them the “green light” to join in with the mob and start “piling on” with the editorials and the expressions of disapprobation.

I’m just waiting, Grammy… you give me the word and I’ll patriotically join in with the mob…

…should we all say the “pledge of allegiance” first?

…maybe a “prayer”to God while we’re all ganging up on some singular individual?

Do any of you who have sworn an oath of office REALLY THINK that that Lorain County has suffered its last war casualty?

    Another Barnes family?

    Another Medders family?

More suffering of the WORST KIND because we’re all what Zimbardo called “normal”…

Julie Wallace knew the EXACT NAME of the perpetrators of the 9/11 WTC ATTACK and what the police caught them with ( a photograph) where they themselves were SMILING and taking responsibilty for the 2,000+ murders that were later to be blamed on 19 Muslim patsies…

…she PUBLICLY did her own version of “at least Herr Hitler keeps the trains running on time”…

… and then the Firelands grad died in Iraq/Afghanistan… died because Julie & Andy did nothing…

…and someone else is going to die….

Julie… Julie Wallace… tel Anne Molnar & Bill Sturgill the NAMES of the individuals who were caught with that photograph AS WELL as the NAME of the arresting New Jersey police officer.
