Black River Historical Society is the keeper of Lorain’s history and artifacts. They take care of the artifacts and the home on 5th St. The garden of the old house blooms with the love and care the volunteers heap upon what could have ended up just another rental or derelict house if not for their good deeds.
So what thanks have they gotten the “old-fashioned porch swing” stolen right off the porch” – One has to ask why? I am not sure you would get much for it in a yard sale – and although BOE member Jim Smith has sat upon it as Mayor Conrad Reid in 2007 – George Washington certainly didn’t plunk his bottom down.
They even took the chains – perhaps to hang from their own porch? Who knows why people do these things. Have a look at the swing in the picture-
Did your kids bring home a present for you? Has your neighbor acquired new porch furniture? Did you see one at a yard sale?
I am offering $100 REWARD for the whereabouts/ return of the Porch Swing .
But readers can also REWARD themselves by attending the
